Studio portrait of SX2892 Captain (Capt) Jack Colin Cuming who was born on 22 July 1913 and was an assistant works manager from Leabrook, South Australia when he enlisted in the Army. He was serving with the 2/27 Infantry Battalion when he was killed in action on 29 November 1942 in Papua. Capt Cuming is buried in the Bomana War Cemetery, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. One of 86 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the Second World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
