Description

Outdoor portrait of H.M. Morris who is possibly S58632 Private (Pte) Hugh Meredith Morris or S74362 Pte Hugh Monro Morris. Pte Hugh Meredith Morris was a 30 year old from Bute, South Australia when he enlisted in the Army on 7 May 19141 and was in 15 Australian Ordnance Stores Company when he was demobilised on 10 December 1945. Pte Hugh Monro Morris was a 24 year old from Lameroo, South Australia when he enlisted in the Army on 14 January 1942 and was in 8th Battalion Volunteer Defence Corps when he was demobilised on 17 October 1945. One of 86 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the Second World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
