Studio portrait of SX27036 Sergeant Hugh Vardon Fairweather who was a 30 year old from Erindale, South Australia when he joined the Army on 26 November 1942. He was serving with 1 Corps of Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Recruit Training Battalion when he was demobilised on 21 August 1945. One of 86 photographs displayed on an honour board showing members of the Adelaide Rowing Club who enlisted for active service in the Second World War. The original is held by the Adelaide Rowing Club who kindly loaned the board to the Australian War Memorial for copying.
