Pre-enlistment studio portrait of 149 Private (Pte) Arthur Hammond, 5th Mounted Infantry, Colonial Military Forces, of WA. Pte Hammond embarked on 6 March 1901 with the 5th Contingent from Western Australia. On 1 February 1902 he died of wounds at Waterval River, Transvaal, South Africa.
