Studio portrait of 466 Private (Pte) Dallas Fairbairn Love, 1st Mobile Veterinary Section, of Kogarah, NSW. Pte Love, a dairy expert prior to enlistment, embarked on board HMAT Clan McEwen on 28 June 1915. While serving in Palestine he was transferred to the 3rd Battalion. From March 1916 he served in France and Belgium, and was promoted to corporal and then temporary sergeant. He was killed in action at Flanders in Belgium on 4 September 1916, aged 24.
