Studio portrait of 406638 Flying Officer (FO) Raymond Edward Norton Butcher, 101 Squadron RAF, of Armadale, WA. A car salesman prior to enlistment, FO Butcher served in the RAF after training with the Empire Air Training Scheme (EATS) in Canada and Britain. FO Butcher, aged 24, was a crew member of Wellington bomber X3815. He was lost on operation on 21 September 1942, when X3815 crashed in Denmark following an attack by enemy aircraft.
