Portrait of 5315 Private (Pte) Charles Percival Clarke, 24th Battalion, of Prahran, Victoria. An accountant prior to enlistment, he embarked from Melbourne with the 14th Reinforcments aboard HMAT Miltiades on 1 August 1916. While serving with his unit in the Ypres Sector of Belgium, Pte Clarke was killed in action on 4 October 1917, aged 33 years. He has no known grave and his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
