Studio portrait of SX7315 Private (Pte) Allan Glanville Porter, 2/48th Battalion, of Kent Town, SA. Pte Porter enlisted on 1 July 1940 and trained at Woodside, SA, before embarking for the Middle East. Early in 1941 the 2/48th moved to Cyrenaica, Libya, to complete its training and on 9 April 1941 it entered Tobruk. Pte Porter was killed in action at Tobruk on 1 May 1941. He was 19 years of age.
