Studio portrait of 432063 Leading Aircraftman (LAC) Dallas William Lynch of Krambach, NSW. A clerk in the public service before enlisting in the RAAF in November 1942, LAC Lynch was training as a pilot in Australia as part of the Empire Air Training Scheme (EATS). He was killed in a training accident at No 1 Service Flying Training School at Point Cook, Vic, on 10 Ausust 1943 when his Airspeed Oxford, serial number X7139 (AS7139), collided mid-air with Airspeed Oxford, serial number R6194 at Werribee Satellite Aerodrome. Thee airmen were killed in the accident, including LAC Lynch, who was aged 20 at the time of his death.
