Studio portrait of V45822 Private (Pte) Robert Ivan Currie, 58/59th Battalion, of Katamatite, Victoria. A farmer in civilian life, he enlisted on 21 July 1941. While serving in New Guinea, Pte Currie died of illness on 23 August 1943, aged 29. He was buried at Bomana War Cemetery, Port Moresby.
