Studio portrait of 22647 Stoker (Sto) Archibald James Thomson, RAN, of Pemberton, WA. Sto Thomson enlisted in Perth, WA, on 2 December 1938. He joined the crew of HMAS Sydney on 15 April 1939. He was killed in action on 20 November 1941 when the Sydney was sunk by the German auxiliary cruiser Kormoran in the Indian Ocean, with the loss of all its crew.
