Studio portrait of 2621 Private Frederick Goodwin Clark, 17th Battalion, of Katoomba, NSW. A fitter prior to enlistment, Pte Clark embarked with the 6th Reinforcements from Sydney on HMAT Euripides on 2 November 1915. After transferring to the 55th Battalion and being promoted to the rank of sergeant, he died of wounds on 3 September 1918 at Peronne, France, aged 23.
