Studio portrait of 400053 Flight Lieutenant (Flt Lt) Kenneth William Edwards, 24 Squadron, RAAF, originally from Kalgoorlie, WA. Flt Lt Edwards is wearing an Air Gunner's brevet and he enlisted in Melbourne, Vic, on 29 April 1940. He was killed on operations over the village of Lautem near Cape Chater, Portuguese Timor, when his B24 Liberator aircraft (A72-70) was shot down by anti aircraft fire on 23 January 1945.
