Photograph of HMAS Sydney, signed by crew members 19494 Petty Officer Cook (POCK) Edwin Hamilton; 24242 Cook (O) Lloyd Martin Willis; 17091 Able Seaman Ernest John Remfry; 16687 POCK Bernard Frank Biram; and 19399 Shipwright 1st Class Edward Bedford O'Brien. These men presented this autographed print to Mrs Isabell Taylor, who with her family, hosted them whilst they were on leave in Perth, WA. With the exception of Supply Lt Hamilton, these crew members were killed in action when the Sydney was sunk in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Western Australia on 20 November 1941 by the German auxiliary cruiser Kormoran. POCK Hamilton left HMAS Sydney on 10 November 1941 and continued to serve in the RAN, reaching the rank of Supply Lieutenant. He transferred to the Emergency List in 1963 and terminated his service in 1967.
