Portrait of 2122 Private (Pte) Thomas Neil Angus, 54th Battalion, of Peak Hill, NSW. Formerly a labourer, Pte Angus enlisted on 13 April 1916 and as a member of the 4th Reinforcements, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Boorara (A42) on 19 August 1916. He served on the Western Front where he was killed in action at Bullecourt on 15 May 1917, aged 21.
