Description
Four members of the RAAF building a snowman while stationed in Canada during training with the Empire Air Traning Scheme (EATS). Identified second from left (without cap) is 400502 Sergeant (Sgt) James Maxwell (Max) Brady. A native of Echuca, Vic, Sgt Brady worked as a solicitor with his father prior to enlisting on 14 September 1940. While based in the United Kingdom, Sgt Brady was among the crew of an aircraft of No. 15 Operational Training Unit RAF that failed to return from a flight. He was listed as officially presumed dead on 16 January 1942, aged 22. Sgt Brady has no known grave and his name is commemorated on the Air Forces Memorial at Runnymede, United Kingdom.
