Description

Two soldiers are depicted standing back to back; the soldier on the left is much taller and burlier as he stands firmly upright, with his hands on his hips, scowling down at the other soldier. The soldier on the right is much smaller by comparison, and he stands with his hands in his pockets, a cigarette in his mouth, and his pointed noise upturned in disregard for his counterpart. The soldier on the left is wearing an arm band with the initials 'M.P' on it, indicating that he is in the military police.

Verso: A caricatured depiction of a soldier trudging through muddy terrain, with pieces of wood and rubbish protruding from the mud around him. The soldier wears a grimace on his face, a helmet on his head, and he is carrying all of his equipment on his back as he lifts his leg high to propel himself through the treacherous surroundings.
