Informal portrait of NX7290 Private (Pte) Eric (Rudd) Hollands, 2/3 Battalion, during leave in the Middle East. Pte Hollands and his brother NX7877 Pte Roy Hollands, enlisted together in November 1939 and served at Bardia and Tobruk, Libya. On 21 January 1941 Eric was wounded in action by a mine explosion at Tobruk. Roy was killed while going to Eric's assistance. Pte Eric Hollands was discharged in May 1942.
