Studio portrait of 1945 Driver (Dvr) William Fredrickson MM, 1st Divisional Signal Company, of Warwick, Qld. A labourer in civilian life, Dvr Fredrickson enlisted as a private in the 15th Battalion, and embarked with the 5th Reinforcements from Brisbane on HMAT Kyarra on 16 April 1915. After transferring to the !st Divisional Signal Company he was awarded the Military Medal for his actions at Chuignes on 22-26 August 1918. With the rank of sapper, Fredrickson, and operating as a linesman, he 'displayed disregard of danger and untiring energy. Under heavy shell fire he maintained a line from Brigade Forward Station to the attacking battalion. He set a splendid example to his comrades'.
