Description
Studio portrait of 1872 Private (Pte) Morley Thomas Brown (centre), 55th Battalion, of Hall via Queanbeyan, NSW, and two unidentified soldiers. A farmer and labourer prior to enlistment, Pte Brown embarked with the 3rd Reinforcements from Sydney on HMAT Barambah on 23 June 1916. After transferring to the 35th Battalion, he died of wounds on 5 April 1918 at the 41st Casualty Clearing Station, France, aged 26.
