Studio portrait of 392 Private (Pte) Donald Hugh White 17th Battalion of Cumnock, NSW. A postal assistant prior to enlistment, Pte White embarked on board HMAT Themistocles (A32) on 12 May 1915. He served at Gallipoli from August 1915 and in France from March 1916. Pte White was promoted to sergeant on 19 May 1916. Sergeant White was killed in action on 6 November 1916 at Flers, France. He was 21 years of age.
