Informal portrait of brothers NX35732 Private (Pte) Norman Leslie Oakroot (left) and NX36464 Pte Francis John Oakroot (right), both of the 2/13th Battalion. Pte Norman Oakroot, of Gogeldrie, NSW, enlisted on 25 June 1940 and his brother Francis, of Leeton, NSW, on 17 Jul 1940. Pte Francis Oakroot was killed in action on 11 June 1941 in Egypt. He was aged 23 years.
