Studio portrait of NX31732 Private (Pte) Neville Turvey, 2/3 Pioneer Battalion, of Coonabarabran, NSW. A labourer in civilian life, Pte Turvey enlisted on 12 June 1940. On 25 October 1944 he died of illness in Australia, aged 37. His brother NX32799 Pte Denzil Charles Turvey was killed in action in Malaya on 22 January 1942, aged 23.
