Studio portrait of NX43392 Private (Pte) Noel Austin of West Wollongong, NSW. Enlisting in the AIF in August 1941, Pte Austin served in the Pacific campaign with the 2/18 Battalion. He was listed as missing after the Japanese attack on Singapore on 15 February 1942 and was later listed as having been killed in action, aged 23.
