Autographs [Autograph book belonging to Nurse Alice [?]]
Description
Autograph book with signatures predominantly covering 1910-1939. It appears to have belonged to a nurse by the name of Alice, nursing in South Australia. It was found in a desk bought at an auction in 2006. It includes at least one First World War serviceman's signature, and several signatures, sketches and verses written by nursing colleagues including some from Yorketown Hospital, Yorke Peninsula, South Australia in 1915. It was during the war years that the salt industry at Yorketown reached its peak production of 57,000 tonnes.
