Anti-flash gear with grey zip pouch bag : RAN
Anti-flash gear comprising of hood and gloves, contained within grey zip pouch bag. The anti-flash hood and gloves are made from white Proban - a chemically treated cotton used in firefighting and flash proctection clothing. The gloves are elasticised at the top for wear over existing clothing and the hood is elasticised around the face area, with thick cotton netting over the nose and mouth area.The grey pouch bag has a black zip around three sides at the top and a reinforced loop, which extends the length of the bag, at the back for attachment to the wearer's belt. These items are unused.
This item was collected aboard HMAS Kanimbla during Operation Slipper in 2001 and 2002. It is a type example of anti-flash gear issued to all crew members.
