Sketch of a child for 2008 Dawn Service commission
Description
The Australian War Memorial commissioned Kristin Headlam to attend the Dawn Service on 25 April 2008 to record this solemn and respectful ceremony. This work is a sketch of a child from this commission. Other works in the collection show a multitude of forms who tend to blur into one another creating a sense of mass. This work takes an individual child who directly looks at the viewer implying a sense of knowledge about the solemness of the occasion.
