Studio portrait of 3427 Lance Corporal (L/Cpl) William Fraser Chalmers MM, 16th Battalion, of Fremantle, WA. A fitter and turner before enlisting on 9 August 1915, he embarked as a Private with the 11th Reinforcements from Fremantle on 1 November 1915. On 10 August 1917 he died of wounds received at Messines, at the age of 20. He is buried in the Trois-Arbres Cemetery, Steenwerck.
