Studio portrait of 409060 Flying Officer James Westwood Leitch RAAF, 7 Squadron RAF. A chartered accountant of Melbourne, Victoria, he enlisted on 21 June 1941. He trained as a pilot, completing 33 raids before he was killed over the Netherlands on 20 October 1943 whilst on a mission to bomb Leipzig. FO Leitch was awarded a posthumous DFC for his "determination to complete attacks no matter how hazardous or perilous the situation".
