Informal portrait of 215745 Corporal (Cpl) Robert Bernard Hickey, 1 Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), of Holsworthy, NSW. He is drinking a beer at the Parramatta Returned and Services League (RSL) club. He was the first Vietnam veteran to join the Parramatta RSL, on his return to Australia following a tour of duty with 1RAR from 7 June 1965 to 6 May 1966. Cpl Hickey returned to Vietnam on 27 March 1968. He was killed in action during fighting at Fire Support Base Coral on 13 May 1968, at the age of 24.
