Scrapbook leaf with three sketches of the journey between Yemen and Egypt
Description
Scrapbook leaf with three sketches of vessels in the Suez Canal. Extended text reads: "Arrived at Aden on 25th November and left on 26th and not a cigarette aboard the ship. Strong men cried like children and despairingly offered 10- for a box [of] "Capstans". Eventually fresh stores were drawn...and the ship sailed in a smoke screen to Suez (December 2nd) and left the same day, arrived at Port Said on the 3rd - coaled - and left on the 4th stayed on [illeg.] till 9th then / proceeded to Alexandria which we reached next day. Did not disembark till 12th. Eventually, after arriving at Cairo next day with some G.S. wagons [sic] - left for Mena Camp on the 17th December."
