Studio portrait of S4650 Able Seaman [AB] William George Blaydon, Royal Australian Naval Reserve, of Annandale, NSW. The son of George and Vera Blaydon, AB Blaydon enlisted on 27 September 1940 and joined the crew of HMAS Parramatta on 9 April 1941. He was killed in action on 27 November 1941, aged 19, when HMAS Paramatta was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine while escorting a convoy delivering supplies to Tobruk.
