Description

Two Sikh members of the Camel Corps, one of whom is a Corporal, at a camp in Suakin. Other members of a Sikh regiment of the Indian Army look on. The Camel Corps was raised to overcome the difficulties of transport in the areas in which the force was operating. The camels were transported from India. One of the five companies, No. 3, comprised 50 men from the NSW contingent and 50 British soldiers.
