Studio portrait of 19748 Acting Sergeant (A/Sgt) Louis Wilton Poole, 1st Field Company Engineers, of Perth, WA. A surveyor and civil engineer who mainly worked on the surveying and construction of Western Australian railways before enlisting on 14 December 1916, A/Sgt Poole embarked from Sydney on 31 October 1917 on HMAT Euripides (A14). He was killed in action on 21 May 1918 in France, at the age of 36.
