Studio portrait of 2134 Private (Pte) Oliver Crapper, 5th Battalion of Koyuga, Victoria. A farmer prior to enlistment, Pte Crapper enlisted on 3 March 1915. Aged 45, he lowered his age on his enlistment record to 43. He was taken on strength at Gallipoli on 5 August 1915. Six days later, he was wounded in action. He died of his wounds aboard HMHS Gascon on 11 August 1915 and was buried at sea near Gaba Tepe.
