Studio portrait of Able Seaman S4305 (AB) Edward Riters, HMAS Sydney, of Merrylands, NSW. He was an employee of the NSW Railways prior to enlisting in July 1940. AB Riters was one of 645 crew members of HMAS Sydney who were lost following the engagement with the German cruiser Kormoran off the coast of Western Australia on 20 November 1941. AB Riters was 20 years of age.
