Not titled [Landscape, near Vierstraat]
Description
Double leaf landscape sketch torn from another sketchbook. Depicts the Ypres Sector at 4pm. Benson indicates that the view is from the right of the village Vierstraat. Benson notes that "A [sketch of] the Ypres Sector. At 4pm oll the guns concentrated their fire on Bois Garante and kept the bombardment up till 4.30. This sketch was made from the right of the village of Vierstraat." Vierstraat is a Belium village situated in Vlaanderen, Flanders. Benson has made notations indicating colours of different geographical formations.
