Informal portrait of 21652 Telegraphist William Sidney Fibbens, HMAS Cerberus, of Seaforth, NSW. Telegraphist Fibbens was a process worker prior to enlisting in the Royal Australian Navy in September 1937. He was one of 645 crew members of the HMAS Sydney who lost their lives following the engagement between HMAS Sydney and the German cruiser Kormoran off the coast of Western Australia on 20 November 1941. He was 22 years of age.
