Studio portrait of 2974 Private (Pte) Charles Anthony Rodan, 51st Battalion of Yalgoo, WA, and Grace Rodan. Pte Rodan was born in Cashelmore, County Donegal, Ireland and was employed as a boundary rider prior to enlistment. He embarked on board HMAT Argyllshire (A8) with the 7th Reinforcements, on 9 November 1916. Pte Rodan served in France and Belgium and was killed in action at Passchendaele on 13 October 1917. He was 24 years of age.
