Studio portrait of NX59903 Sergeant (Sgt) Geoffrey Bede Riach, 2/19 Battalion, of Manildra, NSW. he was a carrier and mail delivery man prior to enlistment on 22 July 1940. He arrived in Singapore in March 1941 and was captured by Japanese forces at Singapore in February 1942. He is listed as being accidentally killed in Indochina on 13 April 1945, the result of an allied air raid.
