Description
Aerial photograph of Kanchanaburi, Thailand during a raid by Allied aircraft including Consolidated Liberators from 356 Squadron RAF. These two bridges over the Kwai Yoi ( Khwae Yai) river were attacked from the air several times and both were eventually destroyed. Smoke is rising from a strike on the upper bank of the river and expanding ripples in the centre indicate a close strike on the lower bridge. More than twenty members of the RAAF served with this Squadron.
