Studio portrait of NX171761 Trooper (Tpr) Charles Frederick Bryant, 2/6 Cavalry Commando Squadron, of Drummoyne, NSW. Tpr Bryant enlisted in June 1943 and trained in North Queensland for jungle operations in New Guinea and the Dutch East Indies. On 1 July 1945 the unit took part in the landing at Balikpapan, Borneo (code name Operation Oboe). Tpr Bryant was killed in action at Balikpapan on 13 July 1945. He was 21 years of age.
