Studio portrait of 608 Private Harry Clive Jones, 37th Battalion, of Bright, Victoria (originally of Wandiligong). A winchman and engine driver of a dredger prior to enlistment, he was promoted to Lance Corporal. He embarked on HMAT Persic on 3 June 1916. In April 1917 he was promoted to sergeant. Sergeant Jones was killed in action on 8 June 1917, aged 32.
