Studio portrait of 3824 Private (Pte) Frank Richardson, 1st Battalion, of Forest Lodge, NSW. A sailmaker prior to enlisting in September 1915, Pte Richardson embarked from Sydney with the 1st Battalion,12 Reinforcements, on board HMAT Mooltan on 11 December 1915. They arrived for service on the Westen Front on 23 March 1916. Pte Richardson was killed in action between 22-25 July 1916 at Pozieres, France, most likely by a shell explosion in a trench. He was 18 years of age.
