Studio portrait of 2446 Lance Corporal (LCpl) Leslie Lewis Thomas, 58th Battalion, of Ballarat, Victoria. A 19 year old warper at the time of his enlistment, LCpl Thomas embarked on HMAT Demosthenes (A64) on 16 July 1915. He was killed in action on 25 September 1917, aged 21. LCpl Thomas is buried at the Hooge Crater Cemetery Zillebeke, Belgium.
