Collection relating to the Boxer Uprising service of 37 Able Seaman Thomas Daniel Edmond, New South Wales Naval Contingent, China, 1900.
Wallet 1 of 1 - Consists of a photocopy and a typed transcript of a letter Edmond wrote to his friends and family on 31 December 1900 while serving in China with D Company, New South Wales Naval Contingent. He writes of the bitter cold, of his negative perception of the city and local populace in Peking, of the fighting nearby, rations, and his work as the general's orderly.
