Studio portrait of 6744 Private (Pte) Arthur Beaumont Goard, 2nd Battalion, of Byron Bay, NSW. A dairy farmer prior to enlistment, Pte Goard embarked with the 22nd Reinforcements from Sydney on SS Port Nicholson on 8 November 1916. He was promoted to Corporal and was later killed in action at Passchendaele, on 4 October 1917. He was aged 28.
