Studio portrait of S5202 Ordinary Seaman (OS) Noel James Fraser, HMAS Rushcutter, of Grenfell, NSW. OS Fraser enlisted on 27 February 1941 and from February until September, trained at HMAS Rushcutter and HMAS Cerberus. On 12 September 1941 he commenced service on HMAS Sydney. OS Fraser was one of 645 crew members who lost their lives during the engagement between HMAS Sydney and the German cruiser Kormoran off the coast of Western Australia on 20 November 1941. OS Fraser was 21 years of age.
