Side view of the 'Grey Nurse' (ZP-Y A58-67), a MK 8 Spitfire aircraft of 457 Squadron RAAF, in flight over the sea. It is being flown by Flying Officer Fred Inger. Shark's teeth have been painted on the front of the aircraft. The print is inscribed, 'To Capt. S Appleby - F.E.L.O. with best wishes from 457 Spitfire Squadron. Labuan 1945', and signed by Flight Lieutenant D H Maclean, the Commanding Officer. QX40903 Captain Sydney Swain Appleby served with the Far East Liaison Office (FELO) in Labuan; 457 Squadron Spitfires were used to drop propaganda leaflets for FELO.
