Group portrait of Field Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery, 1st Viscount Montgomery of Alamein, with a large group of nurses outside a hospital, probably in Brisbane. The group includes Matron Mary Wallace. The photograph has been signed by Montgomery, former commander of the Eighth Army and then Commander-in-Chief of British forces, who visited Australia soon after the Second World War and was received with great acclaim.
